Madden released its rankings earlier this week for the 2019 season. Among the notable takeaways…
Twelve quarterbacks were rated ahead of Jimmy Garoppolo, who signed the richest contract in NFL history earlier this offseason, and three quarterbacks had the same 83 rating.
Joe Staley (90 overall) was the fourth-highest rated left tackle. Just seven cornerbacks were rated ahead of Richard Sherman (90 rating). DeForest Buckner was rated the 10th-best defensive tackle. Reuben Foster (87 rating), entering his second NFL season, was the youngest linebacker rated that high.
Fullback Kyle Juszczyk (84 rating) was the 49ers’ only leader in a position group.
Marquise Goodwin’s 95 speed rating is the fastest on the 49ers. Staley’s 92 strength rating was the highest of all 49ers, though 51 players were rated stronger than the six-time Pro Bowler.
