The 49ers’ new era will pay homage to one of their greatest teams in Week 7 of the upcoming season.
The 49ers announced Wednesday they will sport the 1994 Super Bowl-winning team’s all-white uniforms during Sunday Night Football in Week 7 when they host the division-rival Los Angeles Rams. It is the only week the 49ers will wear the uniforms in the upcoming season.

The team had originally unveiled the uniforms at the State of the Franchise event in May but did not initially specify which week the uniform would be worn.

The all-white throwbacks will replace last season’s all-black uniforms as San Francisco’s alternates for the 2018 campaign. The 49ers said those black uniforms are available for future use, however.
That Week 7 matchup features two up-and-coming NFC West teams in highly anticipated 2018 season. Each squad reloaded this offseason, with the 49ers signing Jimmy Garoppolo to a five-year, $137.5 million deal and later adding several more pieces. The Rams added All-Pro cornerbacks Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters. They bolstered their defensive line with three-time first-team All-Pro defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh.
It will be the first of two matchups between the teams in the upcoming season, with the other coming in Week 17 at Los Angeles.
