Earlier this week, The Athletic polled over 240 current MLB players, asking them 21 questions ranging from who the most intimidating pitcher in baseball is, to which city has the worst fans.

A few Giants players made their way onto the list, including All-Star starter Brandon Crawford, who was voted as the third best defensive player in the league, receiving 10.5 percent of the vote and finishing behind the Angels’ Andrelton Simmons (25.3 percent) and Nolan Arenado of the Rockies (14.7 percent). Interestingly, Crawford also received multiple votes as the league’s most underrated player.

Madison Bumgarner’s name also popped up on a few occasions. The big lefty was the fourth most popular answer to the question of who you’d want starting Game 7 of the World Series (Max Scherzer finished first), and also finished fourth to who players would want closing Game 7 of the World Series with a one-run lead (Craig Kimbrel was first). Bumgarner was also the runner up behind Michael Lorenzen for which pitcher could make it as a full-time hitter.

The only Giants player to be the most popular answer to a question was Andrew McCutchen, when his peers were asked who the best dressed/most stylish player in baseball is. The Athletic did note, however, that “answers to this question were, naturally, extremely skewed by team; strong support from his teammates put McCutchen over the top.”
