Pence, Holland highlight Giants’ jersey nicknames for 2018 MLB Players’ Weekend

Major League Baseball’s new Players Weekend promotion was largely a hit in 2017, as players donned unique and colorful jerseys with unique nicknames of their own choosing. The event was meant to pay homage to the fun of the game and highlight the players’ personalities, and also coincided with the inaugural Little League Classic played in Williamsport, PA near the site of the Little League World Series.

The weekend will return in 2018, as will the unique player nicknames. You can read the full list of Giants nicknames below, but here are some of the most noteworthy:

Hunter Pence: UNDERPANTS

Brandon Crawford: DJ BC RAW

Johnny Cueto: EL JUCHO (The Juice)

Tony Watson: TONE RANGER

Derek Holland: LAST NAME (a reference to this gaffe on Sunday Night Baseball)
