Curry wants to finish career with Warriors: ‘This is home’

If Stephen Curry has his way, he’ll be a Warrior for life.

That’s what the two-time MVP told Bill Simmons on his podcast earlier this week, when Simmons asked Curry if he wants to stay in Golden State for the rest of his career.

“For sure I do,” Curry said. “This is home. This is where I want to be, for obvious reasons.”

Curry grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, and some have predicted that someday Curry may be enticed to sign with the Hornets, and play in front of his hometown fans. Curry hasn’t made any indications that’s the case however.

“I love the Bay Area, man,” Curry said. “The only reason I go home now is if my sister’s getting married or to go play the Hornets for that one game, so I haven’t really been back much. I haven’t put my mind there.”

Curry signed a 5-year, $201 million this offseason. Since being drafted by the Warriors with seventh-overall pick in 2009, Curry has helped lead the Warriors to three NBA titles, won two MVP awards, five All-Star teams, and been named to the first or second All-NBA team four times.
