Crawford makes outrageous play to throw out Goldschmidt at first

Everyone knows Brandon Crawford is a Gold Glove-winning shortstop. But it never gets old seeing how easy Crawford makes the position look, even in the toughest of circumstances.

Crawford made one of his signature, logic-defying plays on Monday night. Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman Paul Goldschmidt hit a ball into the hole which seemed like a sure hit, but Crawford slid and picked the ball out of the ground. From there, it seemed like Crawford had no shot to get Goldschmidt at first, but as Crawford has displayed time and time again, there are very few outs he’s incapable of making.

Crawford stood back up, turned and whipped the ball over to first just in time to get Goldschmidt. Despite being a bang-bang play at the bag, the Diamondbacks declined to challenge the play and the out held. The play was Crawford’s fourth 6-3 putout in a very active defensive game for him.
