In the midst of the worst losing streak the Giants have endured since 1951, the team is making changes. According to Alex Pavlovic, on Thursday, the Giants let go of strength and conditioning coach Carl Kochan, who had been at the position for seven years with the Giants.

Pavlovic reported that the decision to let go of Kochan may not be isolated, as the organization is examining and reevaluating people in the midst of what is likely another losing season. The news apparently struck some players by surprise, as Kochan normally led the team in some pregame warmups, according to Pavlovic.
With 15 games remaining in the season, the Giants will essentially be playing for pride and the chance to spoil the playoff chances for teams like the Colorado Rockies, St. Louis Cardinals and Los Angeles Dodgers. Unfortunately, if the Giants beat the first-place Rockies, it would help the Dodgers, who trail the Rockies by 1.5 games for first place in the National League West division.
