Matt Breida provided the 49ers with their most explosive play of the young 2018 season in the third quarter of their home opener vs. the Lions on Sunday. On first-and-10 from the 49ers’ 34-yard line, Breida ran through a hole on the right side, and made a number of impressive cuts to break the play open. As Breida made his way across the field, he followed an incredible downfield block by wide receiver Pierre Garcon down the left sideline. The score gave San Francisco a 27-13 lead with less than a minute to go in the third quarter.

At the time of writing, Breida has rushed for 138 yards on just 10 attempts. The 49ers as a whole have gained 181 yards on the ground via 22 attempts, for an impressive 8.2 yards per carry.
