Brandon Belt’s season is officially over, but he’ll be ready to go in 2019.
That was Bruce Bochy’s message when he spoke to reporters on Friday, ahead of the Giants’ clash vs. the St. Louis Cardinals.
Belt underwent surgery to have meniscus and cartilage cleanup in his right knee, according to Kerry Crowley of the San Jose Mercury News.
Brandon Belt had season-ending knee surgery in San Francisco today. Had his meniscus cleaned up and Bruce Bochy said Belt will be ready for spring training.

Belt missed the last five games because of soreness in the knee, and was sent back to San Francisco on Wednesday to clean it out. Belt finishes the 2018 season with a slash line of (.253/.342/.414) all of which fall below his career averages. Belt also hit 14 home runs and knocked in 46 RBI in 112 games this year. Belt is under contract until 2021.
