KANSAS CITY — The 49ers released their list of seven inactives for Sunday’s matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs, and Marquise Goodwin’s name is not included.

The speedy receiver returns after missing Week 2 and most of Week 1 with a deep thigh bruise. Goodwin’s inclusion bumps rookie Richie James back to the inactive list after he made his NFL debut last week.

Rounding out the list of 49ers inactives is Joshua Garnett, Jaquiski Tartt, James, Najee Toran, Jullian Taylor, Shon Coleman, and Greg Mabin.

Tartt, San Francisco’s starting strong safety, is the most relevant omission. He suffered a shoulder stinger last Sunday. He did not practice until Friday, when he was limited. Cornerback Tyvis Powell, who has taken reps at safety, was promoted from the practice squad to the active roster to give the 49ers another option in Tartt’s absence. Antone Exum has been the backup strong safety. D.J. Reed is another option at the spot.

Joshua Garnett will miss his second straight missed game, as expected, after suffering a dislocated toe in Week 1. Mike Person will start at right guard.

Kickoff is set for 10 p.m. Pacific Time.
