SAN FRANCISCO – After Saturday’s game, the Giants manager Bruce Bochy reported that Austin Slater’s MRI results had revealed a mild elbow sprain.
Though Slater says it’s been bothering him for about a month, the sprain came to light during Friday night’s game against the Dodgers. In the bottom of the fourth inning, he exited the game after aggravating his elbow on a throw.
Bochy says he hasn’t talked to Dave Groeschner, Senior Director of Athletic Training for the Giants, but he suspects the offseason will provide plenty of time to recover considering the mildness of the injury.
“My guess is by spring training he should be fine because it’s a mild one,” Bochy said.
