Klay Thompson might be a Los Angeles native, but when it comes to the Dodgers, things are personal.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr joined Tolbert & Lund Tuesday afternoon, and revealed that the Golden State shooting guard is no longer a fan of LA after they cut his brother Trayce last offseason. Kerr also shared a funny anecdote illustrating Klay’s distaste.

“Klay hates the Dodgers by the way after they cut his brother,” Kerr said. “Once they released Trayce…we had a team dinner the other night during Game 7 (of the NLCS) and we had the game on, and Klay walked into the dinner and just blurted out, ‘Go Brewers!’ Simple as that.”

It’s unclear exactly who Klay’s MLB team is (aside from whoever’s playing the Dodgers) but Thompson has been spotted at both Giants and A’s games rocking the Bay Area team’s respective hats.

Kerr, however, is also a Southern California native, and huge Dodgers fan. He told Tolbert & Lund that he has “house money” on LA in a World Series bet with Stephen Curry after winning a wager with Kevon Looney.

“I basically carried over my winnings from Kevon Looney who’s from Milwaukee to double up with Steph and the Red Sox, so we’ll see what happens.”
