“This isn’t the preseason!”

Nick Mullens was fantastic in his first ever NFL start on Thursday, throwing for 262 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-3 destruction of the Raiders. The win was a monkey off the back of the entire 49ers team, who hadn’t won in six games, and lost a heartbreaker in Arizona last week.
It also gave the 49ers a chance to celebrate in their own locker room for the first time since Sept. 16, and Nick Mullens his first ever opportunity to give a regular season postgame victory speech.
“When we won against the Cowboys,” Mullens began, “we came into this locker room and I said, ‘It’s only preseason, but that’s why we play the game.’ Well this isn’t preseason and that’s why we play the game!”
Though it hasn’t been officially announced, it seems a safe bet that Mullens will be behind center when they face the New York Giants at home on Nov. 12.
