Marquise Goodwin returned to the 49ers facilities Monday after missing the past two games due to a family matter. He is expected to play Sunday against Denver.

Goodwin was at the team facility last Thursday, but Kyle Shanahan could tell he was not quite right. The 49ers have not elaborated on the specifics of Goodwin’s absence.

“He’s going through some serious things that have happened,” Shanahan said last Friday. “I’d like to let him tell them and not me. Unless he tells me he wants me to. But, family concerns and things like that. Real stuff, and he’s having a real tough time with it, which is understandably so.”

The 49ers are expected to play without running back Matt Breida next Sunday against Denver. Breida has dealt with a nagging left leg injury since Week 5, but he had not missed a game. According to Shanahan, Breida suffered a separate injury during warmups of San Francisco’s 43-16 loss at Seattle. He played just 10 snaps.

The 49ers will also play Sunday without Jaquiski Tartt, who re-aggravated a shoulder stinger injury that has sidelined him for four games this season. Defensive end Dekoda Watson will go on injured reserve with a calf injury. He missed the first eight games of the season with a hamstring injury.
