KNBR Internship Spring 2019

If you’ve always wanted to work in sports and have writing, web publishing and/or video production and editing skills, we’ve got the perfect internship for you. KNBR.com is looking for both digital editorial and video interns for Spring 2019. Interns are unpaid and must receive college credit for their work.

Digital

Interns with the Cumulus San Francisco Digital Department will learn what working at a radio station like KNBR entails. At times, interns will also learn about working at the websites for KFOG, KGO, KSAN, KSFO, KSJO and KTCT.

Interns will learn how to post podcasts, post news, shoot and edit video, graphic design, build photo galleries, and eventually, how to cover a live sporting event. Each intern will also be responsible for coming up with one long-term project to work on over the course of the internship. This project will not be published, but done solely for learning purposes to benefit the intern.

Interns must be enrolled in an education institution where they are receiving credit for the program. The intern will need to provide proof to us that they are an enrolled student at the educational institution and will be receiving credit for their work. The training interns will receive will be similar to that which one would receive in a vocational school. All training will be for the benefit of the trainees/interns and they will not displace regular employees, but work under close observation.

Each intern will be assigned a mentor in the department who will primarily oversee the activity and progress of that intern.

The Cumulus San Francisco Digital Department will derive no immediate advantage from the activities of interns and, on occasion, the employer’s operations may be impeded while training interns.

Internships will last for one school semester. The time period of that internship and weekly schedule will be flexible to meet the demands of the college credit requirements. Interns are not necessarily entitled to a job at the conclusion of the internship and are not entitled to wages for the time spent in training.
