ESPN’s Adam Schefter was one of the fantasy owners to benefit from George Kittle’s historic performance last Sunday.

Kittle caught seven passes for 210 yards and one touchdown, all in the first half, of San Francisco’s 20-14 win over Denver. Kittle came within five yards of breaking Shannon Sharpe’s all-time single-game record for yards from a tight end, of 214 yards. In the process, Kittle became the first 49ers tight end to eclipse 1,000 receiving yards in a season.

Schefter, joining KNBR’s Murph and Mac Thursday morning, thanked Kittle for his performance and challenged him to continue his hot streak in the upcoming matchup with Seattle.

“I want to thank George Kittle; he’s in my ESPN 16-man fantasy league,” Schefter said. “I want to thank him for his performance Sunday. I will also say this — I am concerned about this Sunday because the Seahawks have had his number. And they are tough against the tight ends. I want to see if George Kittle is up to rising above that challenge to help ‘Per Sources’ get to the championship round in the ESPN fantasy football league.”

Two weeks ago, Kittle had six catches for 70 yards in San Francisco’s 43-16 loss at Seattle. He had four catches for 27 yards total in two performances against the Seahawks last year.

If Kittle comes up big for Schefter in his semifinal fantasy matchup, he will return the favor.

“I want George Kittle to be better against Seattle than he has been in the past,” Schefter said. “And I will publicly thank him if he comes through for me and helps get me to the finals.”
