DeMarcus Cousins goes all out while playing 1-on-1 vs. Kevin Durant

DeMarcus Cousins continues to ramp up his activity as he gets closer to returning to the court for the first time since tearing his Achilles last season.

On Sunday, Cousins engaged in a playful (we think) one-on-one session with Kevin Durant, and sold out defensively, guarding KD as closely as humanly possible in the clip above. Note the multiple instances where Cousins immediately swipes at the ball upon checking it to Durant.

Cousins is expected to make his Warriors debut sometime after the new year, and is currently in Santa Cruz practicing with Golden State’s G-League affiliate. Head coach Steve Kerr hasn’t ruled out the possibility of Cousins playing a game with Santa Cruz as a tune up ahead of his return.

Cousins is coming off an All-Star season with New Orleans, the fourth of his eight-year career. Cousins, 27, averaged 25.2 points, 12.9 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.6 blocks, and 1.6 steals per game before getting injured last season.
