OAKLAND – A few weeks back, the media was abuzz with the story that Stephen Curry didn’t believe the moon landing was real. That’s a far cry from where we are today. Curry has since stated that he was “1,000 percent” joking and talked to NASA astronaut Scott Kelly on Instagram Live.
This was after Kelly reached out to Curry on Twitter and told Curry to DM him.

NASA also reached out to Curry and invited him to tour one of their lunar landing facilities. Curry said he accepted, and will visit the facilities when the Warriors visit the Rockets in April. Curry has since been trolled by fans around the league and even the Sacramento Kings.
But now, Curry is using the debacle for the benefit of students. Tonight, Curry is debuting a new pair of NASA-themed Curry 6’s and will later auction off the shoes, with the profits being donated to local STEM programs in the Bay Area, according to ESPN’s Nick DePaula.
