OAKLAND – The Warriors absolutely teed off on the Chicago Bulls in the first quarter tonight. They outscored the Bulls last-ranked offense (100.7 points per game) by 43-17 with a comically good shooting performance.

While the Bulls’ top two scorers (Lauri Markkanen and Zach LaVine) at the end of the first were tied with four points apiece, The Warriors had four players with six-plus points: Stephen Curry (6 points), Kevon Looney (6 points), Kevin Durant (9 points), Klay Thompson (9 points).

Thompson went 3-of-3 from three to open the game and had 16 points into the second quarter tonight. As a team, the Warriors went 14-of-21 from the field in the first quarter (66.7 percent), and 7-of-12 from 3-point range (58.3 percent). It was only fitting that the offensive firestorm be capped off by something as ridiculous as a half-court shot.

Jonas Jerebko came in for the final two minutes of the quarter, and with the clock winding down in the quarter, Jerebko grabbed the ball and pulled up from beyond half court, nailing a bank-shot buzzer beater as his first score and first attempt of the game.
