Warriors poke fun at Klay Thompson’s career-high four dunks

The Warriors just scored 142 points on the Denver Nuggets in a 31-point win that gave the Warriors the first seed in the Western Conference on Denver’s home floor – where the Nuggets boast an NBA-best record of 18-4.

So, is tonight’s postgame chatter about the impact this has on the Nuggets’ confidence or what this might mean about their challenge to the Warriors in the West? Some of it is. But much more of it is about the fact that Klay Thompson – who is not exactly known for his leaping or dunking abilities (see below) – had four dunks tonight:

When asked about the display of aerial dominance (or lack thereof), Kevin Durant was unimpressed, saying Thompson’s dunks, “Don’t look that good.” Thompson admitted that he does need more style in his dunks.

Kevon Looney was on a similar page, saying it’s unlikely Thompson will ever dunk that many times again:

Steve Kerr said Thompson was more excited about tonight’s dunking performance than his 14-3-pt performance in Chicago, which, appears true, based on the fact that Thompson, according to Anthony Slater, came off the floor yelling, “Career-high baby! Four dunks,” and then pulled out his phone during the press conference (see top) to text Zaza Pachulia and rub in the fact that he’s beating him 11-1 in total dunks this season.

In case you missed tonight’s game, here are all four of Thompson’s dunks:
