DeMarcus Cousins stays in game after scary fall vs. Pacers

For a moment, everyone held their breath in Indiana. A few days ago, Victor Oladipo’s season ended on this same court, in the form of an ugly torn quadricep. Oladipo’s season-ending injury sent shockwaves through the NBA. Then tonight, DeMarcus Cousins – recently returned from a torn Achilles – went down in what was an awkward fall.

It wasn’t initially clear how serious the injury was. Cousins went down, crawled away from where he fell, before Andre Iguodala came over to check on him. Eventually, Cousins got up, limping, but walked it off. Everyone let out a much needed sigh of relief.

It appeared that while Cousins fell awkwardly, with his left leg under his knee and weight on that leg, there was no twisting in either his knee or ankle. It was a welcome sight to see Cousins stay in the game. Cousins, by the way, said he felt confident about Oladipo’s return.

“There’s no doubt in my mind he’s going to battle from that and be even better a player than he was before,” Cousins said.
