Now officially a member of the Texas Rangers, Hunter Pence penned a farewell article to Giants fans and the city of San Francisco in the Player’s Tribune Thursday, where he reflected on some of the greatest moments of his six-and-a-half year tenure as a member of the Orange and Black.

“When I sit here and think about my time in San Francisco, it gives me goose bumps,” Pence writes in the piece titled “Gr8ful”.

Pence specifically remembers five moments that stood out to him during his tenure: Travis Ishikawa’s walk-off in 2014 that sent the Giants to the World Series, fans rallying together to help return his stolen scooter, a Giants fan giving him encouragement at a stop light, a group of Giants fans giving him the “ultimate welcome” during one of his first night’s out in San Francisco, and Ryan Vogelsong’s gem in Game 6 of the 2012 NLCS.

“These memories are a small sample of the beautiful journey we shared for about seven years. I can’t express to you how THANKFUL I am, how much JOY I got playing here, and how FORTUNATE I feel to have been a Giant for so long,” Pence concluded in the piece. “I wish there never had to be a ‘so long,’ but I’m grateful for all the time we had. I hope you felt a tiny bit of the joy I experienced out there. I love you all and always will.”
