Giants catcher Buster Posey has played every season of his 10-year career with Bruce Bochy as his manager. That streak will end in 2020, after Bochy announced on Monday that the 2019 season will be his last managing professional baseball.

On Tuesday, Posey was asked for the first time about Bochy by reporters in Scottsdale.

“He had kind of communicated it a little bit with me over the last couple of months so I had a good idea,” Posey told Kerry Crowley of the San Jose Mercury News. “But as you mentioned this will be my 10th year with him so I just want to soak it up, and appreciate who he is to the game of baseball, and enjoy this last year and make sure — not that you need any extra motivation — but if you do it’s pretty easy to look to him and get some more.”

Under Bochy, Posey and the Giants won three world series titles (2010, 2012, 2014) and went 576-568 in games where Posey has played since his call up in 2009.
