Obama takes credit for Steph’s jumper during Oakland convention

Only one person is allowed to roll through Oakland and jab Stephen Curry about his jumper: Barack Obama.

One night after the two celebrated Presidents’ Day over dinner at Ayesha’s restaurant, International Smoke, Curry joined Obama Tuesday at a convention for his foundation, “My Brother’s Keeper Alliance,” in Oakland. During their conversation, Obama amused the crowd when he talked about his role in perfecting Curry’s jump shot.

“Even Bulls fans have to acknowledge that it has been fun to watch the Warriors and the greatest shooter of all-time, because I gave him some tips right before, about five seasons ago,” Obama said. “There’s film of this in the White House.”

Curry played along.

“One of the most exciting things I’ve heard since showing up today, was, when we did our PSA about four years ago, you taught me how to keep my elbow in,” Curry said.

“He was kind of chicken-winging a little bit, and it wasn’t working,” Obama quipped.

“You helped me with my resume, all that good stuff,” Curry said. “Obviously, I had the best mentor in that regard.”
