The 49ers added a piece to their thin receiving corps on Thursday. The team announced that they’ve signed Jordan Matthews to a one-year deal.

Matthews, 26, was selected in the second-round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. He caught 225 balls for 2,673 yards in three seasons with the Eagles before being traded to the Buffalo Bills in 2017. Matthews caught just 25 passes for 282 yards during his lone season in Buffalo before re-signing with the Eagles last season. Matthews appeared in 14 games, catching 20 passes for 300 yards in 2018.

Matthews will join any extremely young receiving corps that includes Dante Pettis (23), Kendrick Bourne (23), Richie James Jr. (23), Trent Taylor (24), and Marquise Goodwin (28).
