Giants prospect Joey Bart is picking up right where he left off. The 22-year old is four games into his first season at Single-A San Jose, and his hitting .313 with a beastly 1.138 OPS so far.
On Monday night, Bart put launched his first home run of the season, a three-run bomb vs. the rival Stockton Ports. Bart hit 13 homers in low-A ball last season.

The young catcher was the second overall pick in the 2017 draft. Though unlikely, Giants VP of Baseball Operations Farhan Zaidi hasn’t ruled out the chance that Bart could get a late season call-up.
“You want to find the right balance between moving guys aggressively and challenging them, versus creating too much pressure and moving them too quickly, where you can have a negative impact on their careers,” Zaidi said. “We’re going to try to walk that tightrope a bit with those guys, but we’re certainly not going to hold them back if they show dominance at that level early in the season.”
