Monday morning, the San Francisco Giants were scheduled to play their fourth and final game against the Cincinnati Reds, that is until a swarm of bees surrounded home plate and caused a delay.
Today’s game between the Giants and Reds has been delayed due to a large amount of bees surrounding home plate.
I wish I was kidding.

It was only 9:30 in the morning West Coast time and the bees at Great American Ballpark were up and buzzing, maybe even before some Giants.
The Reds hitters have stung Giants pitching all series long, especially former-Marlin Derek Dietrich. Not in Monday’s starting lineup, Dietrich still found his way onto the field for Monday’s series finale.
Derek Dietrich is not starting today for the Reds, but he is wearing this beekeeper suit and attempting to scare (??) the bees away. I am not joking, that’s actually Dietrich. pic.twitter.com/SzlbpYXgG2

Dietrich’s courage must be applauded, as Giants pitching may be in favor of the potential career change. Buzzing around in the heads of San Francisco pitchers, Dietrich has gone 5-for-10 with four homers, while driving in eight runs through the first three games of the series. It would bee a real shame if he ended up getting stung.
Following the vicious bee attack, Monday’s contest eventually began just before 10 am PST, as the Giants looked to close out a four-game series victory and exterminate the hive of pesky Reds hitters.
