Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant are reportedly nearing a return to the court, but could Kevon Looney be right behind them? Though initially ruled out “indefinitely” by the team after sustaining a fracture to his clavicle in Game 2, Tim Bontemps of ESPN is reporting that the center could potentially return to the court before the Finals are over.
After undergoing further evaluation of the non-displaced first costal cartilage fracture he suffered in Game 2, Warriors forward Kevon Looney could potentially return during the NBA Finals, league sources told ESPN. More testing will determine next steps for Looney.

Looney’s return would be significant for the Warriors, as the 23-year-old has been their most consistent option at center this postseason. Looney’s ability to defend smaller players when switched as been extremely valuable, and something DeMarcus Cousins struggled with in Game 3.
As for the Warriors’ other injuries, Klay Thompson is expected to return to the court for Game 4 according to Steve Kerr, while Kevin Durant’s status will likely be updated after he participates in his first full-speed scrimmage at shootaround Thursday.
