Listen Live Now:

Ball somehow squeezing through outfield fence saves Giants a run

There are seeing-eye singles, but it’s hard to remember a seeing-eye double like Christian Yelich’s.

With Ben Gamel on first, the Brewers star outfielder roped a shot to right field in the second inning of Sunday’s game at Oracle Park that seemed sure to score Gamel. But the ball, with a 104.8-mph exit velocity, defied physics, squeezing between the padding in the right-field fence and squirting into the arcade area.

Kevin Pillar threw up his hands, and umpires confirmed it was a ground-rule double — putting Gamel on third. Jeff Samardzija then struck out Ryan Braun, and the Giants escaped the inning down 2-0.
