If you didn’t have an interest in seeing Space Jam 2 before, you do now.
Shams Charania of The Athletic released a list of players expected to feature in the much anticipated film on Wednesday evening. To the delight of NBA fans everywhere, the LeBron James vehicle will also star the always entertaining Klay Thompson, as well as Damian Lillard, and Anthony Davis. It will also feature WNBA stars Diana Taurasi and Nneka Ogwumike. Several others are expected to participate.

The film is currently scheduled for release on July 16, 2021, and is still in the pre-production stages. The film is a sequel to the 1996 live action/animated film Space Jam staring Michael Jordan, which grossed nearly three times its $80 million budget. That movie also featured NBA players Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, Shawn Bradley, Patrick Ewing, Larry Johnson, and Muggsy Bogues.
Come 2021, don’t be surprised if Klay is adding an Academy Award to his trophy case.
