Stephen Curry’s last visit to Japan featured bizarre shooting challenge on game show

Every summer, Stephen Curry heads on an international Under Armour tour, during which he visits fans in Asia and/or Europe. This summer, Curry will start in Tokyo, Japan from June 22-23 before traveling to Shenzhen, China on June 24-25 for the 2019 Under Armour Basketball Asia Tour. Along with Curry will be fellow Under Armour signees Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers, Dennis Smith Jr. of the New York Knicks, and Mo Bamba of the Orlando Magic.

Often, on these trips, Curry gets himself put in odd situations; nothing like China Klay, but absurd nonetheless. The last time Curry was in Japan was last summer, one in which he visited the Phillipines, China, Japan, France and England from September 7-15. In that week span, Curry managed to fit in time to go on a Japanese game show called Honoo-no Taiiku-kai TV, in which celebrity athletes are put up for weird challenges (Ronda Rousey once wrestled, and easily beat three men, for example).

Curry’s challenge was to hit 20 shots in 90 seconds. He beat the challenge in 88 seconds, with feeds from his father, Dell Curry. The summer before that, he and his brother, Seth Curry, took part in a Korean game show, in which they took on Korean comedians who had some gimmicks up their sleeves in order to defend the Curry brothers:
