Longoria hits another homer, Dickerson follows suit against old club

The San Francisco Giants cannot stop hitting. Yes, the Giants, who were lambasted – rightfully so – for their lack of an offense that demanded to be taken seriously, are now the hottest-hitting team in baseball.

Leading the charge is Evan Longoria, who, despite entering the series with a .222 batting average, has increased his average by roughly 17 points (.239) and added four home runs (11 total) and 9 RBIs to his season total (36 RBIs) by the third game of the series on Wednesday night. After a two-hit, one-homer, 2 RBI game on Monday, and a four-hit, two-home run, 5 RBI game on Tuesday, Longoria kept the momentum going on Wednesday with a two-run 430-foot shot to center field.

Then, Alex Dickerson, after coming off the bench against his former team for the first two games of the series, took full advantage of his first start in the final game of the three-game stint, following Longoria on the next at-bat with a solo shot of his own to give the Giants a brief 3-2 lead, which was lost in the bottom half of the inning, as the Padres tied the game at 3. It became a deficit in the bottom of the fourth when Fernando Tatis Jr. hit a solo home run to make the score 4-3.
