Outfield range, thy name is Kevin Pillar.

The Giants’ bats were mostly silent, but they brought their gloves.
In the midst of a scoreless game Sunday at Oracle Park, in which Cardinals pitcher Jack Flaherty was throwing a no-hitter through six innings, Kevin Pillar ensured St. Louis would have to work for its run.
With a runner on first and no outs, Paul Goldschmidt lined a shot to right-center, headed toward Triples Alley, that likely would have scored a run and set up the Cardinals for more. But Pillar got a bead on it and laid out, timing his dive perfectly and getting a standing ovation from the crowd.
In case that wasn’t enough, Dexter Fowler then hit a shot to the wall, which Pillar caught up to and caught as he hit the wall.
Jeff Samardzija escaped the inning, and the Giants still had a shot — which they finally took advantage of, Evan Longoria hitting a seventh-inning home run.
