Could an improbable reunion be on the horizon? It’s possible after a report from Chris Haynes on Monday, that the Warriors will be one of a number of teams attending a workout of former Golden State guard Monta Ellis, and former All-Star center Amar’e Stoudemire.
There are approximately 12 teams attending this evening’s workout in Las Vegas featuring Amar’e Stoudemire and Monta Ellis. Among those are LA Lakers, Golden State, NY Knicks, Oklahoma City, Milwaukee, Detroit and Washington.

Ellis, 33, was a member of the Warriors for six and a half seasons after being selected out of high school with the 40th overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft. He was Golden State’s best player for much of that stretch, and once averaged a whopping 25.5 points per game during the 2009-10 season despite not making the All-Star Game. Ellis was eventually traded in 2012 to the Bucks for Andrew Bogut, in the first major transaction under new owner Joe Lacob.
Ellis hasn’t played in the NBA since 2016-17 with the Pacers, where he appeared in 74 games including 33 starts. Ellis averaged 8.5 points and 3.2 assists in 27 minutes per game.
Stoudmire, 36, is a six-time All-Star and hasn’t played in the NBA since the 2015-16 season with Miami, where he averaged 5.8 points and 4.3 rebounds in just over 14 minutes per game. He’s spent most of his professional career since then playing overseas in the Israeli Basketball Premier League.
