The Rockies might want to take their bats and, instead of swinging, simply chase the Giants out of town.
The Giants continued their assault on Colorado pitching Wednesday afternoon, jumping out to a 3-0 first-inning lead at Coors Field, trying to nail down a four-game sweep.
Brandon Belt opened with a single before Austin Slater doubled. And Pablo Sandoval, just about the only Giant who hasn’t been sizzling in Denver, launched a two-run double to right. Entering the at-bat, he had been in a 1-for-20 funk.
Two batters later, Mike Yastrzemski, Rockies Killer, singled to right to score Sandoval, and the Giants were off to a good start. Yastrzemski is 8-for-16 with two home runs and seven RBIs in the series.
