Alex Rodriguez probably won’t decide to park his car on the street again next time he covers a game. He did so on Sunday in San Francisco according to a report by The Chronicle, and paid the price quite literally, when half a million dollars worth of goods was stolen from the rental car he was driving.
In town broadcasting a Giants-Phillies game, Rodriguez elected to park his car on the 400 block of Brannan Street, about three blocks away from Oracle Park. Sometime between 9 PM and 11 PM, the car was broken into, and a camera, a laptop, miscellaneous jewelry and a bag were all stolen according to the San Francisco Police Department.
The case is currently a high priority investigation according to The Chronicle, and takes place during a time when auto break ins are an epidemic throughout San Francisco.
