Reyes Moronta crumples to ground after throwing pitch

Oh no.

Reyes Moronta threw a 98-mph fastball to Luis Urias on Saturday before collapsing to the Oracle Park dirt, in obvious pain.

He remained down for several minutes until he was able to get to his feet and walk off with a trainer. As he headed to the dugout, his right (throwing) arm hung down gingerly. There was no immediate update from the Giants after Moronta’s third pitch of the inning.

Moronta, who entered with a 2.56 ERA, has been one of the best Giants relievers all season, a 26-year-old with electric stuff. Oracle Park was a decidedly quieter place in the aftermath of the scene.
