This story is getting crazier by the minute.
We now have more details on the verbal altercation that reportedly took place between Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown and general manager Mike Mayock on Wednesday. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Brown had to be held back during a screaming match with Mayock that was triggered by Brown being fined $54,000 for missing various team activities during camp. The altercation never got physical, but Brown reportedly told Mayock that he’d hit him in the face, before punting a football and daring the GM to fine him for that.
More on #Raiders WR Antonio Brown and Mike Mayock yesterday: It did not get physical, sources say. But after a screaming match, Brown told Mayock that he would hit him in the face and then punted the ball… and said, Fine me for that. ???

All of this combined with Brown’s bizarre offseason have thrown into serious doubt whether the seven-time Pro Bowler will ever suit up for the Raiders. According to Schefter, there is buzz around the league that Oakland is going to attempt to void the $30-plus million guaranteed remaining on his three-year deal, something that would ensure his time with the team is done.
There are those around the league who now believe the Raiders could suspend Antonio Brown with the idea of trying to void the $30.125 million of guaranteed money in his contract.
Which obviously would end his time in Oakland.

With everything that’s already happened, it still seems as if this is just the beginning of one of the weirdest NFL stories in recent memory.
