2000 Wins!!! ???????

A post shared by Johnny Cueto (@johnnycueto47) on

Social media maven Johnny Cueto, who moonlights as a Giants pitcher, came through for the fans.

Cueto captured Bruce Bochy’s postgame speech to the Giants after Wednesday’s 11-3 victory in Boston, the 2,000th of Bochy’s career. He became the 11th manager in MLB history to hit that benchmark; all 10 of his predecessors are in the Hall of Fame.

Bochy first thanked Jeff Samardzija, the winning pitcher, before getting personal.

“I’ve been blessed to have been doing this as long as I’ve been doing it. It’s a number that all of you are a part of,” Bochy said. It’s unclear if he knew he was being recorded.

“I look at the support from ownership, front office. Players, coaching staff, [trainer Dave Groeschner] and his team, I can’t thank you guys enough.”

He then addressed the players.

“It doesn’t happen without you guys,” said Bochy, now 2,000-2,222 as a big-league manager. “Thank you all so much, it means so much. I’m not going to get emotional here, but it’s not what was on my mind, I swear to you. For you guys to do what you did in July and get back in this thing and for this to happen, thank you.”

Cueto added that it’s an “honor to be part of such an achievement, congratulations Bochz.”
