The 49ers have added a cornerback to their practice squad, and a recent second-round pick at that. Granted, the fact that the 49ers were able to sign Teez Tabor, who was drafted in 2017, to their practice squad, is a reflection of how poor a career he’s had.
Tabor was the 53rd overall pick by the Detroit Lions from the University of Florida, but had an abysmal NFL combine, running just a 4.62 40-yard dash at the there and he reportedly ran even slower at his Florida pro day. He started five games for the Lions over the last two years, playing in 22 total games. If you want a brief summary for his poor 2018 campaign, here it is: quarterbacks had a perfect passer rating against Tabor when targeting him in coverage.

The move to sign Tabor means someone from the team’s practice squad must be cut; the most recent addition was offensive lineman Will Holden, in place of Jeff Wilson Jr., who was promoted to the active roster due to the ankle sprain injury to Tevin Coleman.
UPDATE: According to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports, the 49ers waived offensive tackle Ryan Pope from the practice squad.
