Bob Myers provided two injury updates during his media day presser and neither was particularly positive.

The first was that Klay Thompson, who sustained a torn ACL during Game 6 of the NBA Finals, will be out until at least the All-Star break before being re-evaluated, meaning he will almost certainly miss a minimum of 55 games.

“Don’t construe that as if he’ll be back by the All-Star break, that just means we’ll have an update then,” Myers said.

The second was more surprising, that new center Willie Cauley-Stein has sustained a left-foot issue and will miss all of training camp and the preseason.

“We’ll probably look at him again at the end of October, about 30 days from now,” Myers said.

The Cauley-Stein news means that Kevon Looney will be the team’s starting center to begin the season.
