Lincecum drops f-bomb on tv, reveals he hasn’t retired

It wouldn’t be a Tim Lincecum interview without a little colorful language.

As he’s done in the past, Timmy dropped an f-bomb on live tv during a revealing interview with Amy Gutierrez on Sunday, after Bruce Bochy’s farewell ceremony.

Though the accidental swear may have been the most entertaining moment, Lincecum was introspective talking about life after baseball, showing the relatability that made him so beloved in San Francisco.

“I’m trying to transition,” Lincecum told NBC Sports Bay Area when asked what he’s been up to. “I think the hardest part was coming to grips with who I was after baseball, and I haven’t even done it fully yet. I haven’t formally retired. I’m not sure if I’m going to or not. So, with that, I’m just trying to find my way, going through a little bit of family stuff a few years ago, so that put perspective on things. Yeah, I’m just trying to find my way.”

Lincecum hasn’t played an MLB game since a brief cameo with the Los Angeles Angels in 2017. Lincecum was an All-Star from 2008 to 2011 with the Giants and won the Cy Young award from 2008-2009.
