Uh oh.
Joey Bart missed nearly two months earlier this year with a broken hand as a member of the Class-A San Jose Giants, when he was hit by a pitch on April 15.
Now Bart is playing in Scottsdale in the Arizona Fall League, but was forced to leave Tuesday’s game after getting hit on that same left hand with a 96 MPH fastball. It was the second time he was struck by a pitch during the game according to Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports.
Bart, 22, had an excellent 2019 campaign splitting time between Single and Double-A, posting a slash line of .278/.328/.495 with 16 bombs in 79 games. Bart has also had a hot start in Scottsdale with a .400 batting average and four home runs through eight games.
