Dodgers fans were unhappy last night.
For the seventh year in a row, Los Angeles was knocked out of the playoffs without a World Series trophy to show for their efforts, and this latest installment of heartbreak was especially brutal.
It was most brutal for Clayton Kershaw, one of the greatest left-handed pitchers in MLB history who will continue to be remembered for his playoff collapses. Wednesday night set that narrative in stone, when Kershaw gave up solo home runs on back-to-back pitches, blowing a two-run lead, the first act of a choke job that would end with a Howie Kendrick grand slam in the 10th.
What a time to hit your longest career homer.

Kershaw’s meltdown was the catalyst for a meltdown by those in attendance as well. First there was this video of a disgusted fan ripping off his Kershaw uniform and throwing it on the the field of play during the game.

Then there’s the video at the top of this post via journalist LZ Granderson, who spotted a fan in the parking lot setting a Kershaw jersey on the ground and having exiting fans run over it.
Granderson himself runs over the uniform at the end of the video, after quipping that “This is better for the environment than burning it. I like this.”
Nice to see that Dodgers fans are taking this well.
