Steve Kerr provided two injury updates, one optimistic and one less so during Monday’s news conference.

D’Angelo Russell, who is out again on Monday with an ankle sprain, is hopeful to return for the Warriors’ next game in Houston on Wednesday, though Kerr said he’s “not sure.”

For Looney, things are much less clear. Kerr started by saying he didn’t have a timeline for the center, before clarifying that he will not travel to Houston, but didn’t know if he’d be out for the entire road trip which ends in Oklahoma City on Nov. 9.

Looney has yet to play this season as he recovers slowly from a right hamstring injury. Looney is expected to take his place in the starting lineup — currently occupied by Willie Cauley-Stein when he’s healthy.
