Richard Sherman is coming off a Pro Bowl season, but not everyone is impressed.
Put former cornerback Darrelle Revis in that camp. Citing a play in which Sherman got beat down the field by Davante Adams, the seven-time Pro Bowler called it “lame” that Sherman doesn’t follow around the other team’s best receiver and plays in a zone scheme. He said that Sherman is afraid of getting beat in man-to-man coverage.
Fear of getting beat in man to man coverage. Every snap every play. The fact that he doesn’t travel as a cornerback is lame. Except the challenge as the best and shut Adams down the entire game. Do it for the game of football. Stop hiding a cover 3 zone. pic.twitter.com/OWuzFtj8ov

Obviously when Sherman was alerted to these comments he fired back. Yes, it was personal.
“I would go in on this has been but I have a Super Bowl to prepare for,” Sherman tweeted. “Enjoy the view from the couch. Your ninth year looked a lot different than this. Lmao”
Sherman also took the opportunity to correct Revis’ grammar.
“And it’s ‘Accept’. Thought I would give you a lesson while I was here”

I have to cover every game kid. I get my hands on the football in the playoffs something you will never know anything about. https://t.co/V6uFIvNQvT
