SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS AND SUSQUEHANNA RADIO REACH FOUR-YEAR AGREEMENT TO BROADCAST 49ERS GAMES

The San Francisco 49ers and Susquehanna Radio have reached an agreement on a four-year partnership to simulcast 49ers games on a combination of the company’s Bay Area radio stations it was announced today.

The partnership will provide the 49ers with three flagship stations, including the two leading sports stations on the AM dial – KNBR 680 and 1050 – and the Bay Area’s Classic Rock station – 107.7 The BONE.

In addition to providing extensive game coverage, including in depth pregame and postgame shows, Susquehanna Radio will offer players’ and coaches’ shows as well as other 49ers specific programming throughout the season.

“We are very excited about our partnership with Susquehanna Radio,” San Francisco 49ers Owner John York said. “Aside from being paired with the market leader in sports and entertainment broadcasting, this partnership will provide our fans with unprecedented 49ers coverage. From game broadcasts to players and coaches shows KNBR and The Bone will offer more than 20 hours a week of 49ers programming. That is unmatched by any team in any sport. We’re thrilled with the opportunity to be able to communicate with our fans so thoroughly.”

For the first time ever, 49ers games will be simulcast on both AM and FM stations, including KNBR 680 and 1050 and 107.7 The BONE.

“We know the sports and entertainment business inside and out and are ready to put it to work for the 49ers and its fans,” Susquehanna Radio’s Senior Vice President/San Francisco Market Manager Tony Salvadore said. “The combination of the games airing in ‘Bone-crushing stereo’ and the collective expertise from the leading sports stations make this a truly unique partnership.”

The 49ers took their broadcast rights in-house in January in order to gain more control over the team’s programming and to provide their business partners more media opportunities. The deal with Susquehanna Radio allowed those objectives to be met.

"This is a very exciting time for us because by bringing our broadcast rights in-house and by joining forces with the market leader in sports broadcasting we will reach our fans like never before,” 49ers Vice President of Sales and Marketing David Peart said. “The partnership also allows us to connect with young listeners and to develop new fans through 107.7 The BONE. The possibilities seem endless. We are looking forward to a long and enjoyable relationship."
