The Warriors had reportedly been hoping to add a veteran through free agency to hopefully help the team make its playoff push through the stretch run of the regular season.
There were hopes of Jermaine O'Neal or Dajuan Blair or Timofey Mozgov, among others, being cut or bought out by their teams after the trade deadline. But nothing substantial to the Warriors came to fruition.
So, they'll have to settle with forward Malcolm Thomas, who the team signed to a 10-day contract on Friday.
Uhhh, who?
Thomas comes from the L.A. D-Fenders of the D-League. He played just one game for the D-Fenders this season (13 points, 17 rebounds, four assists, three steals and 1 block) after playing the first part of the season for Maccabi Tel-Aviv in the Israeli League, where he 6.8 points and 5.0 rebounds in 18.8 minutes. In Euroleague with Maccabi, he posted 4.4 points and 2.8 rebounds in 15.6 minutes in 15 games.
Thomas can make up for some of the perimeter defense the Warriors have been lacking sin...
