AP: COI will consider tossing case against former Miami assistant
5:39PM Monday
February 25, 2013

In our one-liners last night, we noted that three former Miami assistant coaches (in both basketball and football) were asking the NCAA's Committee on Infractions to toss out the Notice of Allegations against them. One of those coaches is former UM (2008-10) and Florida (2011-12) assistant Aubrey Hill (pictured).

Per the Associated Press, the COI will consider those requests, although no official action was taken during a Friday conference call.

Hill, along with former Miami basketball assistants Jake Morton and Jorge Fernandez, reportedly claims he would not receive a fair hearing from the COI because of the missteps from the NCAA in the Miami investigation. Hill is accused of providing misleading information, violating the NCAA's ethical conduct rule.

Hill was most recently the wide receivers coach at Florida, but resigned suddenly this past August for "personal reasons."

Another former UM assistant, Clint Hurtt, who is now at Louisville, also received a NOA. However, no action has been taken by UL regarding Hurtt's status as of yet.

Miami's response to its NOA is expected to come in either June or July.
