A "retirement" and a "pursuit of other opportunities" will leave June Jones with a pair of openings on his SMU coaching staff.

Linebackers coach Joe Haering and offensive line coach Bob Palcic, the school announced in a press release, will not return to the football program for the 2013 season.

Haering's contract expires in June, at which time he will pursue other opportunities, the release stated.  Palcic had recently announced his retirement, the school said.

"I want to thank Joe and Bob for all their work for our program," said Jones in a statement. "They were both valuable members of our staff and we wish them the best."

Haering had just completed his fourth season with the Mustangs, while 2012 was Palcic's first season with the program.  Palcic came to SMU after spending four seasons at UCLA.
